Beautiful

BIBLICAL POINT OF REFERENCE:

"You are beautiful in every way, my friend, there is no flaw in you!"

~Song of Songs 4:7

The other day, I had at least three different people come up and tell me that I looked nice--and I was wearing a sweatshirt and yoga pants. So naturally, I questioned why anybody would think I looked remotely nice; I hadn't done anything to make myself look nice, nor did I think I deserved any compliments for that reason. But I got those compliments anyway. Why? I think God was trying to tell me something: Lately, I have been down on myself over my image, not really feeling pretty and just overall wishing I looked a different way. As a human being, and especially as a girl, I think these are natural thoughts that sometimes pop into our heads. Us girls can be so critical of ourselves! But even when I thought I did absolutely nothing to get compliments, especially on my looks, I was still given them, and I think that is God's way of reminding me that I am a beautiful human being and His wonderful daughter.

So I have a couple of challenges for you ladies today: First, I want you all to go out and give three other girls a compliment. Tell them you like their shoes, or their hair, or their outfit, but make sure they know that they look beautiful and that you noticed it! Second, go and look into the mirror right now and tell yourself that you are beautiful. Need some convincing? Look up to the sky and let God wrap you up in His arms, because you are His princess and He loves you. He tells you every day that you are beautiful, and He never wants you to forget it! Your Laughing Sister, Callahan
