Get Pumped for the Apocalypse

BIBLICAL POINT OF REFERENCE:
“And then they will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. But when these signs begin to happen, stand erect and raise your heads because your redemption is at hand.”
~Luke 21:27-28
Hey sisters in Christ. Are you pumped? Pumped for the apocalypse?
No? Death, destruction, and doom don’t sound too appealing to you? The end of the world…that’s not typically a thing to rejoice about, is it?
Take a listen to the “Revelation Song”. That’s what I think of when I think of the end of the world. Eternal happiness and the fulfillment of God’s great glory! Where we’ll all stand with our brothers and sisters praising the Lord Who is Almighty! Holy, holy, holy!
I just wanted to bring up a new look on the end of the world. There are so many movies and books about the end times and it can fill us with fear. I want to say that, yeah, tribulations are not what I’m looking forward to. But God’s glory…oh, yeah! That time will come like a thief in the night, when all shall see that the Lord is God. The Lord alone.
I will say something that does frighten me: The judgment. Think of yourself. Think of all the people you know. Once the apocalypse comes, it’s over. No more second chances. No more time to repent and live a life of virtue. If you’ve chosen hell, you’re going to hell. If you’ve chosen heaven, you’re going to heaven.
Here’s the thing. We should live our lives today with vigilance and joyful anticipation. We should work eagerly to bring all of our brothers and sisters to Christ, so we’ll be in heaven together as one, happy family. Yeah, the end of the world doesn’t sound too good for those choosing hell. But for those choosing heaven…think of it! Let’s invite others to share in the joy of the kingdom of God. We rejoice because our names are written in heaven. Let us invite the Spirit to use us as instruments to add the whole world to the list. Let’s not tell them that they're heading for hell, and they're gonna regret it when they see Jesus coming. Let’s tell them that they are destined for heaven, and it’s gonna be one awesome party.
That’s why, on my birthday this year, I said to God, “I praise You for this blessed day. One more year passed of the wonderful gift of life. One more year closer to the wonderful gift of death.” I didn’t say death is a wonderful gift because dying is such a pleasant experience. I say it because it is through death that we rise!
If you want to get pumped, I’d suggest listening to some praise and worship music. This type of music inspires us with the mission of the kingdom of heaven. It invites us to join the saints and angels in bowing down before our wondrous Creator. I’ll list a few suggestions:
“Great I Am” by Philips, Craig and Dean
“The King is Coming” by Newsboys
“10,000 Reasons” by Matt Redman
“Burning in My Soul” by Matt Maher
Go on out there and proclaim the good news. Our final destination of heaven is coming closer each day.
Your Laughing Sister,
Jacqueline Rae
