He Found Me

BIBLICAL POINT OF REFERENCE:

"But the Lord stood by me and gave me strength, so that through me the proclamation might be completed and all the Gentiles might hear it. And I was rescued from the lion’s mouth. The Lord will rescue me from every evil threat and will bring me safe to his heavenly kingdom. To him be glory forever and ever. Amen."

~2 Timothy 4:17-18

Sometimes God digs you into a rut because He knows you haven't been trusting Him to drag you out. He knows you've been holding the shovel a little too long by yourself, and He knows you need help burying the worries and fears that threaten to pull you down too deep into the earth.

That's where God has found me one too many times: That point of spiritual suspension where hope is scarce and faith is fleeting. That point of brokenness where humility is lacking and dreams have faded. It's a scary place to be because you may not know what brought you there or why you can't unbury yourself from it. It's also not always evident that that is the point you've reached, nor is it easy to climb out of that hole.

But understand that He is giving you an opportunity to trust Him. He is giving you a chance to let Him do what He does best: love. Even when you are just a little lost or a little broken, his love carries you from all the bad to all that is good. His love can overcome any troubles and anger you live with. It can calm any storm. It can pull you out of mourning. It can be your hope...

...All you have to do is let it. Don’t wait to let it in either. Do it NOW, before you forget or get too scared. Open your arms and let him be everything you want and need. Don’t lack in trust for Him, don’t bury the worries and crosses that threaten to pull you down too deep into the earth. Finally, let yourself be found, no matter what point in life you’re at.
