I'm Possible

BIBLICAL POINTS OF REFERENCE:

"He said to them, 'Why are you terrified, O you of little faith?' Then he got up, rebuked the winds and the sea, and there was great calm."

~Matthew 8:26

"Jesus said to him, ‘If you can!’ Everything is possible to one who has faith.'"

~Mark 9:23

I can easily say that I have faith; I have faith in myself, in my family, and in God overall. But just because I have faith in general doesn't mean I don't have times where I don't believe in making the impossible possible. Let me break it down this way: You have just accomplished something wonderful; maybe you won an award, maybe you got a good grade in a class, maybe you conquered stage fright, but whatever it is, you have just succeeded at it. After this accomplishment, you have another challenge put in front of you, and this time, things don't go the way you planned. In fact, they fall apart, and you're left to pick up the pieces. Not in a very faithful mood now, are you? When this kind of thing happens, I wouldn't blame anyone for being angry or hurt, but something that we all often miss is that it's not about feeling angry or hurt: it's about realizing that through the anger and through the hurt, God is still there and still needs you to have some faith in Him. As God is all powerful, I'd like to remember that He knows what He's doing, because I sure as heck don't. So what do we of little faith have to say for ourselves? My challenge for you ladies today is to believe in the impossible. I know I say that a lot, but really, it all comes down to having faith in God. Look at the impossible in two words instead of one: I'M POSSIBLE. Your Laughing Sister, Callahan
