BIBLICAL POINTS OF REFERENCE:
"Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I dedicated you, a prophet to the nations I appointed you."
"Certainly sons are a gift from the LORD, the fruit of the womb, a reward."
"Did not he who made me in the belly make him? Did not the same One fashion us in the womb?"
So, there's been quite a bit of talk, debate, and controversy about the whole Planned Parenthood selling aborted baby parts issue. Yes, it is an issue, and yes, I could go through in a lot of detail why our faith defends the unborn from abortion. However, I think that there are already too many articles out there that explain why Catholics and Christians alike are pro-life, so I'm not going to explain it to everyone again. If you want to know what the Bible says about abortion, I've put some examples above in my biblical points of reference today. If you are interested in knowing more about what abortion looks like, go watch the recently released videos on Planned Parenthood selling aborted baby parts--it should clear a few things up. What I really want to discuss is the fact that I get to go on vacation pretty much every year with my family; or the fact that I got to experience college for the first time this past year, and I get to go again; or the fact that I got the chance to be baptized, confirmed, and receive the Eucharist in Holy Communion--all because I wasn't aborted. I got to do those things because I am alive. My mother kept me when I was in the womb, and I get to experience so much because of it. I don't think that anyone should have to look further than their own lives and experiences to know what's wrong and what's right, and abortion is certainly wrong. It's plain and simple--those babies are getting killed before they have a chance to make a life for themselves. To all those who say that abortion isn't killing a baby because it's just a bunch of tissue in there, try looking up the definition of abortion and the definition of pregnant. Here's what Google says: Abortion: the deliberate termination of a human pregnancy, most often performed during the first 28 weeks of pregnancy. Pregnant: (of a woman or female animal) having a child or young developing in the uterus. Okay, so if abortion is terminating pregnancy, and to be pregnant means to be carrying a child, then yeah, you're killing a baby and a human. Like I said: simple. Even Google thinks so. I know I have a lot of passion on this subject; for me, it is hard to look past the murder of so many children every day. So I am urging and challenging you all today to have passion in fighting for the lives of the unborn, and compassion for all those who have yet to see the truth. Think of your experiences, think of your life, and then think of theirs. Your Laughing Sister, Callahan
